COLLEGE MANAGEMENT
The Institute is managed by a Board of Governors (BOG) composed of 15 members appointed by the Minister for Science and Technology. The day to day running of the Institute is done by a Central Management comprising the following:
• The Chief Principal
• Deputy Principal
• Registrar, and
• The Dean of Students.
The Central Management is closely assisted by the Heads of Departments in the monitoring and supervision of daily activities.
Department Activities
Automotive Engineering
The department trains students in motor vehicle Mechanics from Artisan to Diploma levels. The graduates then either join the automotive trades industry at different levels, or start their own businesses.
Electrical/Electronic Engineering
This department prepares students in two areas: Electrical Installation, and Electronics. On completion of their courses, the students either join the electrical trades industry or go out on self employment.
Mechanical Engineering
The department prepares students in two areas: Mechanical Engineering Plant, or Production options. On completion the graduates either enter the manufacturing industries, or start their own businesses.
Institutional Management
This department prepares trainees in two areas: Clothing Technology, and Food & Beverage Management. Clothing Technology graduates either join the clothing industry, or start their own boutiques whereas the F&B graduates join the hospitality industry, or start their own restaurants/ eateries.
Applied Science Department
This department is the most versatile and popular in the institute and prepares students in the following areas: Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Applied Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Science Laboratory Technology. Graduates from these courses are then able to join various professions according to their specializations, as well as being able to do business start-ups.
Business Department
The department prepares students in: Business Administration, Supplies Management, Human Resource Management, Secretarial Duties, Accounting & Finance, Sales & Marketing and Legal Studies. Graduates then join businesses as management trainees or clerical staff, according to their level and line of training.
Information Communication Technology (ICT) Department
The ICT section serves all the other departments in training the students to become computer literate. It also offers various courses in ICT such as: Diploma in Information Technology, ICDL, CISCO and MCSE.
